VP/Chief Operating Officer and Development Director

About Dancers’ Workshop:

Dancers’ Workshop received the Governers’ Award in 2000 and has been offering excellence in dance education, presenting and outreach in Jackson and throughout the state of Wyoming for over 50 years. Our beautiful office and studio spaces are located in the Center for the Arts at 240 South Glenwood, 2nd floor in downtown Jackson, Wyoming. 

About The VP/Chief Operating Officer position:

DW seeks an outstanding individual as VP/COO. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.This role is essential to our organization as the position will manage the logistics associated with running a non-profit business and carrying out all of the company’s operational duties while creating a collaborative and positive environment. This position will work closely with and report to the Pres/Executive Artistic Director. 

COMPENSATION: Starting at $70,000 - $90,000 annually based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental for the individual. 

IRA after 3 months of employment, and 3 weeks of paid vacation for the first two years

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Be adept at multitasking and be able to undertake multiple projects simultaneously

  • Be able to work respectfully in an open plan office space

  • Be able to accommodate weekend or evening events

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or Bloomerang database systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Focusing on operational excellence, resource management, and cross-functional

collaboration with lead staff members, to drive the organization’s success

  • Collaborates closely with Pres/EAD to create Annual DW Budget for approval of Board of Directors 

  • Responsible for fundraising, managing and development of relationships with donors

  • Assures operational efficiency and cost effectiveness

  • Gives annual reviews of staff in collaboration with Pres/EAD

  • Works closely with the Board of Directors on fundraising

  • Ensures that the DW office presents a professional and productive environment by purchasing and organizing supplies; managing phone, mail, and email; greeting visitors; and answering general inquiries 

About the DW Development Director position:

DW seeks an individual to create and implement a strategic plan to raise vital funds for our organization in a cost-effective and time efficient manner. Additionally, manages database entry, generates tax receipts and thank you notes, prepares mailings and materials, provides administrative support for DW fundraisers. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits..

COMPENSATION Starting at $58,000 - $70,000 annually based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental. 

IRA after 3 months of employment, 3 weeks paid vacation for the first two years.  

Key Qualifications

  • Passion for the arts

  • Bachelor’s Degree and some related fundraising experience

  • Experience in building and maintaining long-term relationships with donors

  • Experience in managing a Salesforce or Bloomerang database 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for communication, relationships and record keeping with donors

  • Responsible for all Grant Writing with DW Staff Support

  • Responsible for researching foundations and corporate sponsors

  • Responsible for creating and implementing fundraising strategies

  • Responsible for preparing reports and materials for the Board of Directors, schedules and manages set-up for meetings, records meeting notes. 

  • Provides additional support to the Pres/Executive Artistic Director and VP/COO as needed 

  • Provides timely, thorough, and well-executed administrative support for all DW activities 

The successful candidate must: Have experience working in a professional environment. Be adept at multitasking and able to support multiple projects simultaneously. Be friendly and professional with excellent communication skills. Be able to work respectfully with a diverse community that has multiple needs, viewpoints, and timelines. Be punctual and able to complete work on a deadline. Be able to accommodate weekend or evening events.
