Join us for a vibrant introduction to Salsa dancing with this 5-week beginner workshop focusing on the universal elements of this extremely popular Latin dance. Learn the fundamental steps of Salsa, Latin movement, rhythm, and partner connection which are the basis for all different types and styles of Salsa. Build upon this foundation and learn a number of easy moves that work across the world of Salsa, preparing you for a good time on the dance floor!
Our goals are to have fun, give you the confidence and movements to create a social partner dance, and prepare you to join novice classes of any type of Salsa you may choose in the future. Though this series is an introduction geared to beginners, any experienced salsa dancers who want to add to their dance versatility are encouraged to join us.
Level 3
7:30 - 8:30 pm
In this series, we build upon the universal moves of Level 1 and foundational moves of Level 2 to explore the building blocks of salsa. We begin combining the movements you know to create new, exciting dance patterns and will also introduce some new, basic Cuban Casino moves to expand your repertoire. Our focus will be on dancing and moving to great Latin and Cuban music while reviewing our skills, practicing combining patterns and trying new elements of Cuban dance.
Level 4
7:30-8:30 pm
This intermediate Casino/Cuban Salsa workshop introduces both new, complex moves that build upon those learned in previous levels and some new, easy Cuban moves to enhance our versatility. We also focus on the skills that can improve your partner work and personal dancing and provide real guidance on how to combine moves to take them to the dance floor. A good balance of these classes is spent dancing what we know to great Salsa music and adding in new movement patterns, both in Rueda and one-on-one partnering.

Veronica Guadalupe was certified in the Pilates method by Romana Kryzanowska in 2002.
Veronica’s goal is to promote the highest possible quality of life for every client who walks through her door by sharing the knowledge and experiences she has attained through Pilates.
Her first career was as a contemporary ballet dancer. She attended a performing arts high school and then spent the next 15 years dancing professionally with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Santa Fe Opera, Gus Giordano II, and River North Chicago. While dancing with Luna Negra Dance Theater for over 10 years, she also took on the position of Rehearsal Director and later became the Associate Artistic Director of the company.
Like any professional athlete, Veronica has had her share of injuries. Through these personal experiences, studies of Pilates and close relationships with physical therapists, she has gained valuable insights allowing her to address the needs of each client, as they deal with their own injuries, surgeries, and pain management, or simply to help them achieve better life goals.
Veronica began her Pilates education at a young age, eventually starting her formal training with Grand Master Teacher Juanita Lopez.
