Principles of Movement in Yoga and Beyond with Neesha Zollinger
Thursdays, November 7-December 19
Noon-1pm
This series is great for the curious body who wants to know how to align the body for the best possible function. Even for those with the know-how, we deepen into the practice of them.
Drawing on the Universal Principles of Alignment from Anusara Yoga and Dynamic Neurocognitive Imaging from Franklin Method we approach level one yoga poses with a lens of biomechanics and function.
All levels welcome.
The practice of yoga is one of continued learning of knowledge (jnana), along with action and re-application (kriya), to not only know, but gain insight, and embodied wisdom (vijnana). In tandem with the physical teachings, we embark on philosophical and spiritual inquiry based on non-dual Shaiva Tantra. This particular series will embark on the 5 powers (shaktis) of Consciousness/Awareness.
week one: First and second Universal Principles of Alignment (UPA) standing poses
week two: second UPA
week three: third and fourth UPA
week four: third and fourth continued
week five: fifth UPA
week six: secondary principles

Sound Bowls: Crystal Sound Bowls offer a therapeutic form of meditation. All that is required to participate in this is finding a comfortable position to allow your body to relax. The bowls create healing frequencies that move through the body and re-calibrate on a cellular level. Each bowl correlates to a different chakra. Participants often are carried to a dream-like state and leave the room feeling full body residence.
