GYROKINESIS® & GYROTONIC®
You use handles and pulleys to enable sweeping, arching movements, and there’s a fluid quality that goes hand in hand with your breathing. Each movement flows into the next and the accumulation of repetition and pattern gives the joints the correct articulation without jarring or compression.
GYROKINESIS®️ is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. some of the exercises are performed on low stools while others are done lying down, sitting, or standing. Gyrokinesis movement maximizes the flow of energy through the body leaving you feeling energized, balanced, and grounded.
GYROTONIC®️ is based in principles of yoga, dance, tai chi, and swimming and a session takes on equipment. Unlike yoga (and most workouts), there’s an emphasis on rotation and spiraling movement that doesn’t have an end point. Francesca pursuit healing extends beyond dance. She has been working in the practice of GYRONKINESIS® and GYROTONIC® since 2008, during her professional dance career in New York City. She found she needed other forms of movement to integrate her body in order to be able to continue to perform and train at the highest level.
