Dancers’ Workshop’s annual Winter Production takes place at The Center Theater and is a large-scale production complete with professional lighting, sets, and sound. In what has become a holiday tradition, DW brings to life classic stories through dance! Narrative action, popular characters, and an accessible story arc help audience members connect with our wildly inventive take on familiar tales. Interesting choreographic choices, character tweaks, and the occasional hip hop number add to the fun. Approximately 120 students ranging in age from 6 to 18 share the stage with professional dancers and members of the community. Audiences are treated to a mix of impressive dancing and heartwarming entertainment. Whether we are staging a Nutcracker with the help of a professional company like San Diego Ballet or choreographing and creating an original production from scratch, DW pulls out all the stops, making Winter Production an unforgettable experience for our community. Original productions are conceived and directed by Artistic Director Babs Case with the help of Obie Award-winning actor Bob Berky.
