In addition to bringing ALL FuNKD' UP to Jackson Hole, Savion Glover returns to Jackson Hole for a fifth residency to share not only movement but tap history, philosophy, rhythm and musicality during an extended residency January 31 - February 3.

Continuing the process of discovery and investigation with world-renowned tap dancers Savion Glover and fellow hoofer Marshall Davis, Jr. Using an unorthodox teaching style, Savion teaches rhythms that you create with your body rather than step-by-step routines. These classes are open level for ages 7+ and multi-generational. Expect the unexpected!

If you have ever wanted to try tap or want to finesse your style, why not join the world’s greatest living hoofer!

Savion returns to continue to reach populations that might not venture into our studio space or the theater, visiting Jackson Hole Middle School music classrooms to explore rhythm and musicality. During two visits in May and October of 2018, Savion visited the Senior Center of JH, offered a lecture demonstration to the community and shared outreach at Jackson Hole Middle and High Schools.

Savion "could arguably be the best tap dancer that ever lived. He's a genius." -Gregory Hines

While ALL FuNKD' UP marks the newest innovative expression from Savion, he celebrates his 36th year as a performing artist in show business. You may know him from his career starts as The Tap Dance Kid on Broadway and as a longtime tap dancer on Sesame Street. You may also know him for his later unprecedented choreography from Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk that garnered him a Tony Award for Best Choreography. His other credits include Black & Blue, Jelly's Last Jam, the movie Tap with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis, Jr., Spike Lee's Bamboozled and Happy Feet and Happy Feet 2 (choreographed by Savion himself!), and the Broadway musical Shuffle Along.

Savion was privileged to dance with and be guided by the great Bunny Briggs, Buster Brown, Lon Chaney, Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis, Jr., Jimmy Slyde and Diane Walker. Today, he carries on the legacy of these pioneering hoofers and can often be found dancing on stages across the world with jazz musicians like Jack DeJohnette, Roy Haynes and McCoy Tyner.
