MEET THE COMPANY
Francesca Romo is a dancer, a choreographer and the Rehearsal Director for Contemporary Dance Wyoming. Born in London, England, Francesca trained at The Royal Ballet School as well as London Contemporary Dance School. After a one-year apprenticeship with Richard Alston Dance Company, she formally joined the Company from 2003–2006 and fell in love with the U.S. after a six-week American tour. Shortly after, Francesca moved to the U.S. and co-founded New York City-based Gallim Dance. She has toured, created and set Gallim's work nationally and internationally.
Michaela Ellingson is a Jackson Hole native and trained at Dancers’ Workshop. She attended the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase in New York and performed work by Doug Varone, Mark Morris, Netta Yerushalmy and others. Michaela joined the EDge Postgraduate Company at London Contemporary Dance School, culminating in a 2015 European tour with works by Robert Clark, Itamar Serussi and others. She completed her Masters at LCDS with the creation of her own solo “Circuit.” Michaela has worked with London-based companies, Bittersuite, Flavour and Some, and MCDC. This is Michaela's second season dancing with CDW.
Kate Kosharek has been performing, choreographing and teaching at Dancers’ Workshop since 2006. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was a member of Wild Space Dance Company from 2002-2006. Kate has performed in works by Heidi Latsky, Zvi Gotheiner, Susan Marshall, Elisa Monte and Bella Lewitsky. In 2008, she co-founded Hole Dance Films and has produced dance films that have played in festivals across the U.S. and Europe. This is Kate’s tenth season dancing with CDW.
Marissa Moeri holds a Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Marissa had the honor of working with acclaimed artists-in-residence Robert Battle and Jeanne Bresciani. Her studies took her to Greece where she performed with the Isadora Duncan International Institute in the reconstructed works of Isadora Duncan. Prior to relocating to Jackson, Wyoming, Marissa lived in Boston and performed with SOKOLOW NOW!, Deborah Abel Dance Company, Kelley Donovan and Dancers, Danny Swain Dance Company, and as a guest with Weber Dance. Marissa is on the administration and teaching staff at Dancers' Workshop.
Luke Zender, a Jackson Hole native, contributes to the community through dance education and performance. With studies ranging from Debbie Allen Dance Academy to a NYC-based Peridance Conservatory Ballet program, Luke has cultivated diverse movement modalities, dancing with Panacea Performing Arts in Los Angeles and CDW. Through the DW artist-in-residence program, he has also studied with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company and performed in workshop with David Dorfman Dance. Luke has started to research what it means to create and choreograph for himself, celebrating the ideas of gestural movement, performance art and the human condition.
