Outreach Program

Twenty-two weeks a year, Dancers' Workshop brings the heart and soul of the organization to communities throughout western Wyoming, providing outreach programming for public and private schools. Dancers’ Workshop promotes the arts by bringing art education to students through cross-curricular art integration projects that include The Dancing Alphabet (in collaboration with pARTners), The Language Dance, A World We Can Imagine, and other creative projects.

Our vision is to create divergent thinkers by asking questions and exploring classroom concepts using movement as the vehicle. Basic movement concepts bridge gaps, inspiring new ideas and changing perspectives. For close to 20 years, artists from Dancers’ Workshop have been collaborating with classroom teachers to shape residencies that emphasize connections to Language Arts, science, math, social studies, art, and music.

The creative residency "was a powerful experience for all of our students; blurring divisions of age and gender and leaving in its wake a supportive, creative, and inspired community of artists and thinkers. Without question, it was some of the year’s most important learning." -Tom Marshall, Journeys' Middle School Teacher
