The mission of Dancers' Workshop is to enrich lives by offering excellence and diversity in dance experiences through education, performance, and outreach for students and audiences of all ages.
The School at Dancers' Workshop teaches students from 18 months to 18 years old. Dancers' Workshop (DW) offers over eighty classes a week to children, teenagers and adults. DW offers a wide variety of dance genres and opportunities for the beginner to the experienced dancer. DW students are taught in small groups in a supportive environment that foster confidence and individual accomplishment as well as technique, artistry and creativity.
Our Kinder program incorporates creative movement classes that transition into more technique classes. Our Youth program takes those Kinder class building blocks and transforms the students into a higher level of training including instruction in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Hip Hop. Within the Youth program is our pre-professional dance company, Junior Repertory Company, for highly dedicated students who strive to expand their technical and artistic dance ability.
Our Adult dance & fitness program offers a myriad of opportunities for Jackson, Wyoming. DW offers a variety of adult dance classes including Modern, Ballet, Hip Hop, Salsa, Bachata and Tango Practica. The fitness class selection is ever expanding and includes Pilates Mat, Core on the Roller, REFIT®, bootybarre®, Zumba® and Ballet Workout. Pilates equipment classes are also available.
Artists-in-Residence bring a high caliber level of expertise to our community and the School at DW. Contemporary Dance Wyoming (CDW) is Dancers’ Workshop’s resident professional modern dance company under the direction of Artistic Director Babs Case. These local professional dancers have performance opportunities and are also the dance faculty for the school. In addition to teaching Ballet, Modern and Technique classes, CDW often works collaboratively with artists of all disciplines from around the country.
We support bringing visiting artists to Dancers' Workshop for short and extended residencies in order to give our students and the community every opportunity to engage with the creative process and learn from professionals throughout the country and world. These artists bring diversity in programming in class instruction to the school students as well as adult workshop participants. We strive to provide diverse pathways of access from these artists to community members of all levels of interest and ability.
